Sorry to say, kolkata's private buses are one of the ugliest in the country. These are maintained only to extent that it can run. The condition of seats are bad, never replaced or repaired. They stop wherever want and get customers violating traffic laws. The drivers and ticket collectors do not talk to passengers in polite way. Buses are overcrowded but conductor always tries to carry more and more passengers irrespective of the condition. Kolkata Howrah passengers suffer a lot, they protest but bus drivers and conductors don't pay heed. One of the funniest and ugliest thing I saw that, police men beat the body of buses like animals as buses do not want to proceed and tries to take excessive passengers. As usual government do not dare to to instruct private bus owners. Government bus service is comparatively better, but maximum services are provided by private buses. They are also waiting for Uber type thing in buses after that they have to cry. These buses are nothing but garbage looked things.

Taxis of Kolkata
Taximen of Kolkata are one of the biggest reasons of worries. Even state government is not disturbing them seeing elections in 2016. Even new " No refusal " taxis refuse now and then , they will go as per their wish and they just outright refuse to passengers.
We are living in a city which used to be British capital and largest city of Eastern India. But Taxis are running without obeying state laws and drivers just insult passengers. The worst part is... they abruptly refuse to visit Howrah, they always want to go where they would find return fare or they just demand for higher fares.
We pray god to help us....... We people are tired from enough fighting with these taximen.... we people are not organised..... but these taxi drivers are bound by unions and they just negotiate rigorously with state government.
Its a great surprise.... how a normal people would like to live in this city where a common man has to suffer a problem like this... refusal >>??? seems to be very strange.. but its a fact. If anyone does not believe... just ask common man of Kolkata ...
Where are political parties... they don't talk about these issues...
I request people across the globe... please do not try to reside in the city .... people here are still struggling for bread and butter hence if you want to really help people then u r most welcome otherwise if you think you can drive people for your work.. you cannot..

Kolkata : Gearing up for Puja 2015
Kolkata is getting ready to welcome goddess Durga again. Now we are seeing advertisements on posters relating to pujas, increasing crowds in cloth shops, people home's are painted , people preparing plans for their pandal hopping, garba -dandia, travel outside the state during vacation etc.etc. etc....but we are observing anything new this time too. However, still a number of days are between today and pujas ... may be somebody is trying to do something new ...

New UBER but same old drivers of Kolkata expert in saying NO
Yesterday went to AJC Bose Road from BBD Bag to leave a colleague. The colleague only hired the car on UBER. Before coming to pick us , he asked where would go .. normally this question should not be asked by UBER cab driver... but in Kolkata I have heard 3-4 times that drivers ask for the destination.
The colleague told that the car will drop you at metro station and then car may leave. The driver heard... just before coming to Metro Station of Rabindra Sadan, I asked would you like to go to Howrah ... ( I was just testing him , as he asked the destination before picking us ) ... but he refused. He told my 10 trips target is complete, I will not go.... . It is Kolkata, drivers are expert in refusal .... do not worry... more instances will come up . I do not know why drivers are frustrated in this city. Still the cab drivers of UBER and OLA do not want to go to Howrah . The run car in AC unlike yellow old Ambassador cars .. but still drivers are not satisfied.
Someday they will start to make association ......... OLA UBER taxi drivers association... so that they can run the cars on their sweet will.... they are happy to refuse. They get extra satisfaction to harass customers or prospective customers.
In coming days, if UBER do not control them ... more instances and some more severe instances would come up.

Kolkata in News
Now a days , news papers and TV news channels are concentrating to provide latest updates on Sheen Bora Murder case. Arushi Murder case , Sheena Bora Murder mysteries have provided journalism a new angle. But this is not good angle. Through out the nation , thousands of important news are important , but all news channels want to mint money and fully concentrating on showing news on Indrani, Peter, Das, Sheena's Diary, relationship of Indrani with Khanna and Peter, etc etc. Journalists are not concentrating to detect the murderer but showing the activities of Police. They will say " its not my work " but just think --- if a journo says I know who killed Sheena .... just imagine his name fame and fortune.. but such devotion and sharpness is missing in modern journalism.
Indian news channels resist Kolkata city ... but now Kolkata is very fortunate to get a permanent news on Sheena Bora Murder case as accused and their past were connected to city of joy. Kolkata Strike - 02 September 2015
We all know Kolkata is affected badly due to strike called by Trade Unions of Communist Parties of India supported by other unions of other parties except Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress.
During childhood , when strikes were announced we used to play cricket on the roads and streets. Those who wanted to learn scooters and Motorcycles ,it was the ideal day. Streets used to be without vehicles. In later years, when strikes were called by Mamata , CPIM used to oppose. In the last years of CPIM , Mamata called multiple strikes due to which even public started to be demoralised. It happens once that she cancelled strike seeing the mood of the public.
Now she is not calling any strike but she is opposing strike called by CPIM. Her supporters who used to pressurise business and vehicles owners to shut down their business , shops and vehicles now are trying their best to oppose the strike.
Seeing the condition of traffic and shops , the BANDH is successful. Ample buses are plying but lacs of people come from different local trains routes to avail bus services in the city. Buses are running empty and without customers. All buses are just running to please the current government. Today is the day of their loss business.
Bank Unions ... ha ha ... they have also joined to support strike... RBI has announced their two holidays in a month but god knows what they want. Youngsters try to get a job in Banking and our bankers have taken their jobs at granted. Even now a days they have shout down ATM. Certainly, public will be affected. Why don't we do something to give them lesson. For a particular locality , if 100-200 account holders close their personal accounts with deposits mentioning the reasons of these strikes... some lesson they will get. One full day , people should not deposit a single money in a branch, they will understand the lesson. Public should come open and oppose bankers through twitter, Facebook , blogs and other social media.
Trade Unions in Bengal should think about the promotion of industries in the state. They must work hard to put the industries back on the track. Last government had listened them enough. whole of eighties, nineties and two thousands was the period of these trade unions. If they do not liberalise... there will be no industry in the state to lock or strike. Their owners have minted crores of rupees and they really do not need to re stat their business. This must be understood by the trade unions.
Talk with the industry and seek for alternative good ways to oppose. From strike... only the common man is suffered nobody else.

Videocon Mobiles manufacturing in Kolkata
A little good news for Kolkata. Videocon has expressed its faith in Kolkata by setting up a manufacturing facility. It has kicked off manufacturing of Mobile Phones , the very first mobile manufacturing facility in Eastern India. The amount of investment is INR 50 Cr. but its certainly a good news !!

Kolkata's Rainfall 2015
This year , its quite a pleasure to be in Kolkata. Every day rain during July !! I love rain and hardly I found a day in monsoon this year without rain. Some people hate,,,,,,,,,,, but why .......... its the speciality and feature of Kolkata to get heavy rainfall , why should it be forfeited from our city. Every day this month , the weather was awesome ..... relief from heat ....... no need of ACs in the night !!
